Society for Conservation Biology — Promoting Florida wildlife conservation in a visually engaging way
The Society for Conservation Biology at the University of Florida commissioned me to create a merchandise design for its members, centered around Florida’s native wildlife and the organization’s conservation mission.
The final design combines expressive wildlife illustrations with a typography-led composition, allowing the animals to interact with the organization’s name rather than simply sitting beside it. Through multiple iterations and client feedback, I refined the composition, hierarchy, and illustration style into a graphic designed specifically for apparel.

The Illustration
Rather than treating the organization name as separate elements, I explored ways for the illustration to interact with the typography giving the design a more playful quality. I was inspired by the Florida black bear and the way they interact with trees. From this I developed the idea of an a black bear laying on the typography in the illustration.
