IKEA — Translating a global brand into physical spaces

As a Graphic Design Specialist at IKEA, I create visual communication across the in-store experience, translating an established global brand into engaging, functional design for a local audience. My work spans environmental graphics, signage, print, digital displays, motion design, and campaign materials while maintaining IKEA’s visual identity across every touchpoint.

Beyond production, I develop concepts around communication challenges, collaborate with marketing and cross-functional teams, and carry projects from initial idea through final installation or output. Working within a highly recognizable brand has strengthened my ability to design creatively within established systems while balancing clarity, consistency, and the needs of a fast-moving retail environment.

Print Materials

At IKEA, I work with all functions to design their communication needs. I translate each request into a visual solution considering: IKEA brand guidelines, scale, placement, materials, and the customers environment.

Challenge: IKEA for Business needed a new business brochure that presented their services to customers.

Solution: I developed a new brochure design that highlighted key points of what IKEA for Business can do for customers. I made sure information was laid out efficiently, studying how a trifold is interacted with, and developed a clean new design.

Challenge: IKEA People & Culture wanted to celebrate Black History Month with an interactive calender that would keep coworkers engaged throughout February.

Solution: I designed a modular calendar featuring influential Black figure to be placed on each date. Each day a new person would be added to the calendar, and make one design piece by the end.

Motion Design

Challenge: The IKEA Orlando marketing team needed to develop a 30 second motion graphic that would be played inside the UCF football stadium that could capture attention, communicate the brand quickly, and connect IKEA with the energy of game day.

Solution: I developed a fast-paced motion graphic using bold typography, IKEA brand elements, and UCF-inspired messaging designed to be understood at stadium scale. The final design centered around “Charge on to IKEA Orlando” creating a playful connection between the local audience and the IKEA brand.

In-Store Motion Design

Challenge: IKEA Orlando is starting to introduce digital screens in-store to communicate offers, events, products, and brand messaging. Each piece needs to capture attention quickly while remaining consistent with IKEA’s visual identity and working within different screen sizes, placements, and viewing environments.

Solution: I design motion graphics that translate IKEA’s visual identity into engaging digital experiences. Using typography, product imagery, video, and animation, I develop content around each message and its environment.
